Google Wave Invitation - Spare one available, for you?
Friday, October 2, 2009 8:41 by Robin GurneyUPDATE 7th October:
The winner of this little competition is …. drum roll….the person who posted this:
“I need you to invite me to Google Wave because my little dog called Rombi asked me for one and… you know, everything for a little doggy ;-)”
Why? when Jessica, gst, hawaii and other nearly made it?
Well - I love dogs and in the recent Estonian Internet Awards I was really pleased when the jury (I was chairman) gave an award to STOP KILLING DOGS.
So well done to United Cats and Dogs and well done to Ramon (give my love Rombi - anything for a little doggy–ahhh)
GST - you were my official runner up for the Nigerian letter, so if I get anymore you are first on my list. I promise.
Thanks to everyone who joined in and I hope you all get invites too.
I know people at Google who watched this post and so if they are reading this now then please send me more invites so I can share them with all these people.
Thanks in anticipation.
——————————end—————————–
I have already got my Google Wave Invitation and now have access. Too early to comment as I just have not had time to dig in but I will report back later on this blog.
With the access comes a message from Google that allows me to nominate 7 people to receive access.
Obviously I can’t guarantee if and when you will get access but this is the deal if you want me to nominate you.
There are three options:
1. Write a comment on this blog, why should I nominate your for a Google wave invite. Funny comments welcome.
2. Link to this blog post from your own blog.
3. Send out a tweet with #googlewavenomination
Next week, on Wednesday I will announce the winner and nominate them.
My decision will be final and purely subjective - it won’t be random, it will be whoever impresses the most with the originality of their claim.
Good Luck.

Why should you choose me to win this awesome contest?
Well here’s a few reasons why I think I should be seriously considered for the winning position:
~I’m a chic
~I’m a gamer chic
~I’m the first gamer chic to post a comment for this contest
~I’m a gamer chic & everyone knows gamer girls ROCK! ;-D
~It’s Google Wave & I’m a huge fan of the Google, I love anything Google & I have tried out all of the products and applications Google puts out there!
~And last but not least because this site is AWESOME. I’ve never heard of it before, very cool, very glad I stumbled upon it. Going to read over it when I have more time & share the info with my hubby.

Why i need a Google Wave invitation?
Just to be prepared!
Because I know that the big G will conquer the world… but maybe they will wave it before the assault

So much hassle for this one invite. If you can’t get invites for your friends what are you going to do alone in this wave? :d In the end it would be open for everyone anyway.

@ Agur: I received the right to nominate seven people. I have used six for some of my colleagues at http://www.altex.ee and reserved one for this “competition”.

DEAR SIR / MADAM,
II am the manager of bill and exchange at the foreign remittance department of AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK (ADB)I am writing to seek your interest over a GOOGLE WAVE INVITATION. .In my department we discovered an abandoned sum of $15m US dollars (FIFTEEN MILLION US DOLLARS) .In an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer who died along with his entire family in November 1999 in a plane crash.Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we cannot release it unless somebody applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim.
For the transaction we need your help in obtaining a GOOGLE WAVE INVITATION. The Banking law and guideline here stipulates that the invitation should go to me. I will not fail to bring to your notice that this transaction is hitch free and that you should not entertain any atom of fear as all required arrangements have been made for the transfer,You should contact me immediately as soon as you receive this letter. Hopeing to hear from you immediately.
Your’s faithfully,
MR.Kabore Ahmed.

I sure would love a Wave invitation, what for… to improve my haircut, to share feeling about this new trademark of hair gel, to surf it and feel like an australian, to try my new board or more seriouslsy : to simply interact with you and thousands of interesting (or not) people and be part of this new way/trend of communication that google is offering to us.
If I’m not part of the lucky ones, enjoy your wave surfing and I’ll join you later

At this point when I saw your post, I have now been awake since 4 a.m. It is now 11:30 a.m. here in the eastern U.S. where I live, so I am afraid I will not be very imaginative. So here’s how I feel about “Google Wave.” I am a 47-year-old grandmother who has been married since I was 15 years old. Waited until my children were old enough to stay at home alone before returning to school. Earned my GED, started college at a community college and earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Office Administration in 1993. While I was in college, I earned extra money tutoring others in the computer lab. But since my husband works full time in the coal mining industry, plus he is a minister, I never really got to put my degree to work. Whenever he started pastoring a church, that’s what I did with my time. I have always, basically, been a wife, mother, and grandmother. My daughter had her first child when she was 17, so I started all over again. I love technology. I also love using my digital camera and my camcorder. But both my camera and camcorder are in dire need of replacement as technology moves at a fast pace, and my cameras are a few years old. As for my cell phone, all I can afford is a simple Motorola from Net10–a pay-as-you-go company. So between times of caregiving, I try to spend all the time I can on my computer. I am always trying out new programs and my favorite search engine is GOOGLE. I also have recently started using Mozilla Firefox with the Google Chrome add-on as my WEB BROWSER. So if you like my short bio, contact me. I’ll be waiting. Sorry I wasn’t in a more merry mood!
Thanks for the Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave opportunity!

Hello! I’m Vali, a graphic artist, foss and Google Lover!
Been waiting for something like Wave for years now; I recently started a NPO, we’re a small team of enthusiast developing 2 free open source cross platform 3d video games, part of http://www.FreezingMoon.org
Cheers!
You can see some of our artwork/3d assets/docuemntation there.
We really need Wave asap to ditch our IRC channel and BBpress board, bringing indie collaboration to a new level and building a better community in order to speed up development and create something even greater. I hope you can help us out, because we’re not just people wanting to try out Wave for the sake of it
