Actually no I am not gay…it was trick to make you click. Sneaky huh?
But I know a lot of people who are (gay): Estonians, English, whatever and like anyone else on the planet (black, white, green whatever) gay people have a right to party, march and to live discrimination-free lives.

So when someone told me today that the Estonian Police were considering banning the Tallinn Pride march I was pretty pi**ed off and decided to speak out.

I want my son to grow up in a tolerant society (like the one I grew up in Brighton) so I hope the politicians and stakeholders (who kept their mouths shut after last year’s unpleasant incidents) speak out now and that this nonsense talk of banning the march is kicked into touch where it belongs.

And hey, you might even see me on the March if you can drag me away from the beach in Võsu….I have been to quite a few good Pride parties in Brighton over the years.

Like I recently showed my colours (white) in support of Estonia v Russia I now show them again (rainbow this time) and urge others who want to see a fun, free and tolerant Estonian society that supports all minority rights to show theirs too:

because in one way or another we are all minorities.

We are all different, all equal as the slogan says.

NOTE: It has just been pointed out that perhaps this post does not belong on altex blog because it might offend someone. Oh well, sorry if it offended you…that’s life. The war in Iraq offends me but I don’t want to stop people writing about it.
